Subscribe to Xcode Cloud

Apple says developers can get started by setting up a workflow in Xcode and getting 25 hours of compute per month for free until the end of 2023.

Apple announced that developers can buy subscriptions to Xcode Cloud, a continuous integration and continuous delivery service built into Xcode. Apple developed Xcode Cloud to provide cloud-based tools for developers to build applications, run automated tests, deliver applications to testers, and manage product quality.

Xcode Cloud has been available to all developers since June after several months of beta testing, but until now, subscriptions were not available for purchase. Developers can now choose from four monthly plans that vary based on the total number of compute hours required.

Now the first 25 hours of computing per month are free for everyone, but later they will cost $15 per month. The cost of 100 computing hours per month is $50, 250 hours is $100, and 1000 computing hours per month is $400.

Apple says developers can get started by setting up a workflow in Xcode and getting 25 hours of compute per month for free until the end of 2023. This plan will cost $15 at the end of the introductory period.

A compute hour is an hour of time that is used to complete a task in the cloud, such as building an application or running tests. Compute hours usage can be tracked in App Store Connect and the Apple Developer app. More information can be found on the Apple Xcode Cloud website.
