It’s been almost five years since EA announced the third installment of the popular mobile game Plants vs. Zombie, and now it’s almost out. EA has announced that the game Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia is back on soft-launch in select countries including the UK, Netherlands, Australia, Philippines and Ireland.

Like the previous installments, PvZ3 is a tower defense game where you have to use plants to fight off hordes of zombies. EA claims the game will feature “new and returning characters” and gameplay will mirror the “classic battles of the first game.” PvZ3 will be a free-to-play game, but it will still feature microtransactions.

The original Plants vs. Zombies came out on PC and Mac in 2009, before hitting mobile devices. The game spread to even more platforms after EA acquired its developer, PopCap Games, in 2011. This also led to the development of Plants vs. Zombies 2, which was released in 2013. Around the same time, the game switched from a $2.99 flat fee to in-app purchases.

EA says PvZ3 will be available in more countries “at a later date” while it gathers feedback during the testing period.
