Nielsen Norman Group has a great article on whether you should create a separate app for your smart watch. In general, this approach applies to all products, but here the case is even worse because, according to the study, 80 per cent was for apps built into the device, such as messaging, activity trackers and timers. Another 15 per cent was music. And the rest of it — nobody needs it at all. The approach, however, is don’t create a smart watch app just because you can. Spend time and resources on it only if you’re sure it offers unique value.
