Mobile app Crunchyroll has crossed a major milestone in terms of consumer spending, becoming the next member of the prestigious $1 billion app club. There are a total of 101 mobile games and 26 mobile apps that have reached the monumental milestone of 1 billion in user spending.
According to data.ai, this achievement happened more than a decade after the app debuted in 2011. Although Crunchyroll was one of the first to test monetization in app stores, it wasn’t until 2015 that it started seeing real results.

Notably, the largest amount of consumer spending came from the U.S. at around $103 million during the same period, with Germany, France and Brazil generating $10.9 million, $10.7 million and $7.8 million, respectively.
