Apple presented the new MacBook Pro

The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro starts at $1,999 or $1,849 for students. The 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro starts at $2499 or $2299 for students.

Apple has just introduced the latest generation of MacBook Pro. The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models feature the new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. Other updates include Wi-Fi 6E support, updated HDMI with 8K support, and more.

The M2 Pro chip found in the new MacBook Pro has up to 12 CPU cores and up to 19 GPU cores. You can also use up to 32 GB of combined memory. M2 Max goes even further – it already has a 38-core GPU, doubles the bandwidth of a single memory, and it can be up to 96 GB.

So even the M2 Pro compiles to Xcode up to 2.5x faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro and nearly 25% faster than the previous generation with its own processor.

Notably, Apple also claims that these new MacBook Pro updates provide the “longest battery life on a Mac” with up to 22 hours of continuous use.

For enhanced connectivity, the new MacBook Pro features Wi-Fi 6E, which is nearly twice as fast as the previous generation, and enhanced HDMI 2.1 that supports 8K displays for the first time.
