Apple may refuse to release a new version of the iPhone SE

While smaller phones are cute and more pocket-friendly, the market is showing that there is actually little demand for such products.

While some may say that there are too many smartphones in Apple’s lineup, others may point out that Apple has an iPhone for every budget. For the most part, this is true – if iPhones used to cost a fortune, now you can buy a new one for $430. Of course, this model will not look the most modern, but the iPhone SE 3 has a good price and a lot of features.

However, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, due to historically poor sales of lower-end iPhone models, Apple may be trying to delay or cancel the release of its future iPhone SE 3 successor, which was due in 2024. He also states that there are also concerns about the potential higher production and sales costs of the upcoming model as it will have a redesign that will use a full screen design.

While the aforementioned points are the main reasons, Apple may also be looking to cut back on its investments in new projects to combat the uncertainty of economic conditions in the coming year. As reported, Apple will also reduce its line of computers, abandoning plans to create an ultra high-end Extreme model for its upcoming Mac Pro.

While Kuo has rarely been wrong in his predictions, 2024 is still a long way off, so there’s always a chance things could change. But it’s worth noting that we’ve already seen this once before. Apple took a chance and released a more compact high-end iPhone with its iPhone Mini 12 and iPhone Mini 13. But due to weak sales, the company ended the series after just two years.

While smaller phones are cute and more pocket-friendly, the market is showing that there is actually little demand for such products. Even at a lower price, there may not be room for another iPhone SE.
