If you feel like you are worth more, be prepared to negotiate until you reach an agreement that is fair.
However, knowing that you should ask for more and actually doing it can have varying results based on how it is executed.
At around the 4-minute mark of the video below, Erik Singer talks about how we talk can influence the perception of others. Vocal fry and up talk are two things that we sometimes do without noticing. For me — it’s up talk — so I sound like I’m uncertain a lot of the time to strangers. It turns out, I also have a tendancy to do vocal fry when I’m talking to someone I know.
When we make the unconscious conscious, it means that we’re able to modify how others perceive us. It’s one thing to say that we should go into the interview with confidence, it’s another to actually do it.
If you’re interested, it’s only a few minutes and perhaps make you mindful of how you speak to others. The same words can have a different impact based on how it is presented.

3. Be prepared to walk away from the negotiation if you don’t get the salary you want.

In addition, by making space to accept good opportunities, you are increasing the likelihood that one will come your way.
It is important to note that the law of attraction is not a magic wand that will immediately give you everything that you want. However, it is a powerful tool that can help you to attract what you want into your life. If you want to increase your salary, start by increasing your expectations. Be selective about the opportunities that you pursue and make space to accept the good ones. With time and effort, you can manifest your dream salary.
When companies lowball your value, it also sends a clear message that you don’t value yourself or your skills. This can erode your confidence and make it harder to negotiate for better compensation in the future. Additionally, accepting a lowball offer can set a precedent for future employers, who may think they can get away with paying you less than you’re worth. It’s also not worth your time and energy to work for a company that doesn’t value you. There are plenty of other companies out there who will be happy to pay you what you’re worth.
